Every closed deal, diagnosed. Every quarter, on record.
The Win/Loss module reads each deal’s Gong calls, writes one structured diagnosis of why it was won or lost, and accumulates the results into a corpus your executive summary is built from. Deals are analyzed once, never twice.
From a date range to a diagnosed corpus in one run.
Pick Won, Lost, or Both and a window. Discera pulls that window’s Gong calls, groups them into deals by your CRM’s closed-won and closed-lost stages, and diagnoses every deal it hasn’t seen before. You watch progress live, then land on the executive summary.
- Primary driverThe single factor that most decided the outcome.
- Root causesThe contributing factors underneath it.
- Sales executionHow the deal was run, scored from the calls themselves.
- PreventabilityWhether the loss was avoidable, and where.
- EvidenceThe prospect quotes the diagnosis rests on — verified verbatim against the transcript — tied to the calls they came from.
One structured pass per deal. Not a summary of summaries, and not a chat answer that vanishes when the tab closes.
Analyzed once. Useful forever.
A deal is never analyzed twice. When a run overlaps deals already in your workspace, they’re skipped — no LLM work, no quota spent — and the run report tells you exactly how many were new versus already on record.
That changes what win/loss costs. A traditional program re-samples every quarter. Discera’s marginal cost each quarter is only the deals that actually closed in it. The corpus compounds; the spend doesn’t.
Need to refresh a deal after new calls happened on it? Open it in the Deal explorer, choose Remove and re-analyze later, and the next covering run diagnoses it fresh.

- Executive summary
A board-ready briefing synthesized across every deal in the corpus: a headline, the numbers anchoring it, the dominant patterns, a primary-drivers chart, and recommended plays. It refreshes automatically after each run, and regenerates anytime without spending call quota.
- Deal explorer
The full corpus as a filterable table — by outcome, primary driver, industry, or preventability, searchable by company. Click any row for the deal's complete diagnosis and its supporting quotes.
- New analysis
The run builder, with a history of recent runs and what each one added.
Two connections, five minutes.

Gong
Supplies the call transcripts, through a read-only API key over Gong's standard retrieval endpoints — no Gong credits consumed, no Gong seat required.

Deal outcomes
Come from your CRM. Discera needs a reliable way to tell won from lost — either a configured won/lost outcome mapping, or HubSpot's own closed-won / closed-lost flags read directly. It never guesses the outcome from words in the transcript. Without one of those, a run can't classify deals, and the module asks you to set outcomes up first.

What it costs to run.
Win/Loss is a Growth and Scale feature (and included in Pilot and Custom workspaces). Each run spends monthly call quota only on the calls behind genuinely new deals; skipped deals and executive-summary refreshes cost nothing.
A typical first run — last quarter, Both outcomes, the default 500-call cap — usually covers 20 to 60 closed deals, enough for the top three loss drivers to separate from noise.
The layer above the recorder, below the interview.
Gong records your calls and answers questions about them. It doesn’t keep a per-deal diagnosis corpus, score preventability, or write a cross-deal briefing that compounds quarter over quarter.
Interview programs capture buyer perception after the fact, on a sampled subset of deals, at real annual cost. Discera reads what actually happened in 100% of your closed deals, from calls you already have. If you run interviews, the Deal explorer tells you which deals deserve one.
Frequently asked.
Which plans include Win/Loss?
Growth, Scale, Pilot, and Custom. On other plans — including the free trial — the module doesn't appear in the sidebar; upgrade from Settings.
Does it consume Gong credits?
No. Discera retrieves transcripts through Gong's standard, non-credit-metered endpoints and runs all analysis on its own infrastructure. It spends Discera call quota, not Gong credits.
Does re-running a window analyze deals twice?
No. Every deal is diagnosed once; runs over overlapping windows skip deals already in the corpus, with no quota spent on them.
What if a deal changed after it was analyzed?
Open it in the Deal explorer and choose Remove and re-analyze later. The next run covering its window diagnoses it fresh.
How does Discera know a deal's outcome?
From a configured won/lost outcome mapping, or from HubSpot's closed-won / closed-lost flags read directly — never inferred from words in the transcript. Salesforce stage support is prioritized by demand: hello@discera.ai.
How many deals make the executive summary reliable?
The top loss drivers usually separate from noise around 20 to 40 diagnosed deals — and because the corpus accumulates, reliability grows every quarter at no extra cost for deals already on record.
Run it on last quarter.
Pick Both, pick last quarter, press run. Most first executive summaries are ready before the next stand-up.
